The Interlochen DDA is focused on the improving the businesses climate within our district boundaries along M137 and into Interlochen Corners. The Downtown Development Authority Act (Public Act 197 of 1975 of the State of Michigan) provides the legal mechanism for the DDA board to address the needs of existing businesses and encourage economic development within the Green Lake Township DDA business district. This act seeks to attack problems of business decline, strengthen existing areas, and encourage new private investment in the downtown districts. It seeks to accomplish this goal by providing communities with the necessary legal, monetary, and organizational tools to revitalize downtown districts, either through public-initiated projects or in concert with private development projects. The manner in which the DDA chooses to make use of these tools does, of course, depend on the problems and opportunities facing our Interlochen district and the development priorities sought in the revitalization of its business district.
The Interlochen Downtown Development Authority has no full-time staff. Our board works diligently to provide the best service for the small budget available to us. Please reach out to us at the contact information below. We will reply as soon as possible.
